New Heavy-Duty A606 Weathering Steel

We built the new Big Dog Tank Trap from A606 weathering steel, commonly known as Cor-Ten® steel. A606 is designed to develop a protective surface patina when exposed to the elements, helping the steel resist atmospheric corrosion without relying on conventional paint or coatings. Over time, the steel develops its characteristic weathered appearance while maintaining the strength and durability needed for demanding range use.

The result is a tank trap that looks at home outdoors and is built to take years of hard use.

Fits Any Style of 4×4

The redesigned brackets are engineered to accommodate virtually any standard 4×4 post, from posts with naturally rounded corners to conventional treated lumber. No more worrying about finding the perfect post profile—the new design gives you the flexibility to use the lumber that’s readily available.

Each kit includes the heavy-duty steel brackets and stainless steel self-tapping hardware. The hardware is selected not only for corrosion resistance but also to provide secure attachment while helping reduce the risk of splitting the wood during installation.
