Big Dog Steel Precision Rifle Target

Big Dog Steel is proud to finally unveil our new precision rifle target.

We have dedicated significant time to developing and testing our prototype Precision Rifle Target to ensure it functions perfectly and can withstand the abuse you plan to give it. The “T” zone on the precision rifle target features a flapper that flips over the top of the head and flashes, waiting for you to shoot it back down. The heart flapper moves side to side and is controlled by a heavy-duty spring, preventing rebound with .308 class rifles. All flappers are waterjet cut from premium 1/2″ thick steel, and the hinges are all waterjet cut from 3/8″ thick premium steel. Hinge bolts are 5/8″ diameter grade 8 bolts.

Everything bolts into place, which eliminates the risk of a heat-affected zone from welding or cutting. If you ever damage any part of the target, we can simply replace that small part. In targets where everything is welded, if something needs replacing, you have to replace the entire target. This is not the case with ours.

The “T” zone is precisely positioned in the head to reflect the actual dimensions of the average human head. Similarly, the heart flapper is accurately placed to represent the correct location in the human torso. This design significantly enhances training effectiveness compared to shooting at a standard IPSC-shaped target. The vertical movement of the head flapper, along with the lateral movement of the chest flapper, will also help you learn to acquire new aiming points on the target. This target is focused on realistic precision accuracy, ensuring you can train on a more lifelike target.

The target also includes a custom, heavy-duty 4×4 Post Bracket specifically designed for the precision rifle target. Portable “H” bases are also available.
